Last Day in Dublin

On our last day in Dublin we shopped on Grafton Street and I danced at Temple Bar one last time.

I can’t wait to come back and see everyone on Monday! It’s been a long 17 days, but I already can’t wait to come back!

Now we come to the end of my Scotland and Ireland Travel Blog.

(Next update in November when we spend a week in New York City with my cousins!)

Tonight, I stay in a castle

On our last Friday of our trip, my parents arranged for us to stay in a real castle! The name of the castle is Dromoland Castle. (It is pronounced DROMO-land). Here are photos of the castle, the fancy grounds around the castle, our royal meals, my endless hot chocolate served in a silver tea pot with marshmallows in a silver bowl. They all knew my name and we were treated like ROYALTY!

I KISSED the Blarney Stone!

I kissed the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle.  You kiss the Blarney Stone to get the gift of gab.  You climb to the top of the castle and hang upside down to kiss the Blarney Stone.

Kinsale and Dancing

Kinsale is a town next to a harbor in southern Ireland just like Seaside is next to the Pacific Ocean. My mom loved this little town. We could walk everywhere and the walk to every corner and edge was only about 5 minutes!

That night we went to listen to two different bands at pubs. The first pub had ok music and I danced about 4 times. The second pub was hopping! I got up and danced about 20 times. My dad even ran back to our hotel and got my hard shoes.

And for Paula, there were 8 creepy dolls in this hotel. I took pictures just for you, Paula!

I left Dublin and went to Kilkenny today. Kilkenny is about 2 hours from Dublin. My dad had to drive in a right hand drive car again!

Kilkenny has a castle that is totally decorated. It felt more like a princess castle than Edinburgh castle did. I am getting to be a castle expert! All of the rooms were set up like they used to be in the 1700s.

The coolest part was how they found scraps of old fabric and had it recreated in the library.

I also had the most amazing crepe after we saw the whole castle.

Here are some pictures from my day.

Today I got to see my old friend Emer. She is one of my best dancing friends. She moved to Maynooth (a small town outside of Dublin) a year ago. She and her mom met my family and we went to a Viking museum and hung out.

We also got to see the Molly Malone statue.

Here are some usie’s of Emer and I and us having a viking fight.

Touring Dublin

Today we had a tour on a double decker bus. It was called the hop on hop off Dublin City Tour Bus. It went to all the major spots in Dublin.

My favorite stop was the Dublin Jail. People were executed at the jail. I got to see the jail cells, luckily all of them were empty because it is not a jail anymore it is a tourist place. This is me pretending to be in jail.

First Day in Dublin!

We arrived in Ireland!  We are staying in Dublin for 3 nights.  The flight from Scotland to Ireland was really short but really really bumpy because of the big winds!

We went to the Brazen Head Pub.  It is the oldest pub in Dublin.  The picture of the outside of the pub is below.  We had dinner there.  I ordered fish and chips.   I usually like fish and chips but these had bones in it.  Yuck!

After we finished our meal at The Brazen Head we literally walked across the street and we were in Temple Bar. At Temple Bar there was this guy that played gutar for us and I danced to his music! I got up and did a step and got back into my seat but he made get up and do two steps that happened again and at the  end of the song I ended up doing 21 steps! (That’s about 12 minutes of hard core dancing!😳)

The  musician knew my name and play a special song for me to dance to! I stayed up till about 11:30 PM
